A knife set is only as good as how often you use each piece — and most large sets bury two or three genuinely useful knives under filler you never touch. This three-piece set is the opposite: every blade is one a cook reaches for constantly. The 8" chef knife handles the bulk of the work, the 7" santoku offers a shorter, more maneuverable option for everyday slicing, dicing, and mincing, and the 5" utility bridges the gap for smaller, more detailed jobs. All three are ground from 7Cr17MoV high-carbon stainless steel and hardened to 54–56 HRC — hard enough to take a fine 12° edge per side and hold it through daily prep, while resisting rust and staining with simple care. Each features full-tang construction and a Pakkawood handle for matched balance and a secure grip. Backed by a lifetime warranty and kept exclusively for cutluxe.com — the quiet core of a serious kitchen.

Every Shinobi Series knife is forged from 7Cr17MoV high-carbon stainless steel — rust-resistant, impact-tough, and hardened to 54–56 HRC to hold a razor-fine 12° edge. Handles are crafted from ergonomic Pakkawood for a secure, comfortable grip in any condition. Every knife features full tang construction for maximum balance and control. Care To keep your Shinobi knife performing at its best: Hand-wash only — dishwashers damage the edge and handle over time Dry immediately after washing to prevent moisture build-up Hone regularly with a honing rod to keep the fine 12° edge aligned between sharpenings Store on a magnetic strip, in a knife roll, or in a block — never loose in a drawer Use a wooden or plastic cutting board; glass and ceramic surfaces dull the blade

Not the right fit? No problem. If your Cutluxe knife doesn't meet your expectations for any reason, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund or free exchange — no questions asked. We stand behind every blade we make. If the quality isn't what you expected, we'll make it right. Simply reach out to our team at support@cutluxe.com and we'll handle the rest.

Every Cutluxe knife is backed by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. If your blade or handle ever fails due to a manufacturing issue, we'll replace it — for the life of the product. What's covered: Defects in blade construction, handle materials, and assembly. This warranty applies to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. What's not covered: Normal wear and tear, damage from misuse, improper care, or dishwasher use. To make a warranty claim, contact us at support@cutluxe.com with your proof of purchase and a description of the issue.

Shipping Standard delivery is free for orders over 35$. . Arrives in 3–5 business days after dispatch; allow up to 7 days during peak periods. Expedited delivery (from $6.99): 1–2 business days. Most orders ship within 24 hours of purchase. International shipping: Available at checkout. Rates and delivery times calculated at checkout based on destination. Returns Changed your mind? Return or exchange it within 30 days of purchase, for any reason — no questions asked. Contact support@cutluxe.com to initiate a return — we'll guide you through the process.

Every spec on this knife serves the cut. 7Cr17MoV steel at 54–56 HRC takes and keeps a finer edge than softer blades, and the 12° grind is where that hardness pays off.

12° per-side geometry — a measurably keener edge than the 14–16° Western standard
54–56 HRC hardness — the balance point between edge retention and easy resharpening
High-carbon 7Cr17MoV stainless — corrosion resistance without giving up sharpness
Full-tang balance — weight set behind the edge for precise, low-effort control

WHAT OUR MASTER CHEFS SAY

Edge Retention

"It holds its edge through a full service — hundreds of cuts before it asks for the stone. Few knives stay this true."

Kenji Mori — Itamae, Ginza

Photo of Haruto Sasaki — Sushi Master, Kyoto

Balance & Control

"The balance sits right where my hand expects it. The blade follows my eye — no correcting, only the cut."

Haruto Sasaki — Sushi Master, Kyoto

Grip & Comfort

"Eight hours at the counter and my hand is still easy. Wet or dry, the handle holds — it never turns in the grip."

Daichi Ito — Head Chef, Osaka

Excellent quality razor sharp nice heavy handles quality steel very pleased will buy more in the future but again you need to change your wood magnet holder I got one that was defective and didn't have a place to screw it into is just a drilled hole poorly and then the second one I put the knives on it and they literally just slide down and scratch the wood they're very poor quality please go with the one that I'm trying to tell you to buy which I purchased before in Texas they're only $32 there twice as big and much better quality and the magnet is extremely strong on both sides

I love the weight of the handle it's extremely comfortable and definitely nice good heavy weight and razor sharp blades I have bought many of these from Amazon and they're all garbage if you can imagine a tube of ground round hamburger and none of these knives wood cut through it yours or razor sharp I could literally cut paper and that's a true sharp knife all the knives I bought from you is are amazing and I will buy others I ordered another set from this other company and they are terrible they won't even cut my skin it's pathetic your product is amazing but again I've sent you pictures of the ones you should be selling that are top quality they retail on Amazon for only $32 there twice the size so they set a whole set of knives on either side and the magnet is actually strong unlike the one you're selling I would stop selling that that is a very poor quality product and it doesn't make you look good when you sell such excellent knive and such a poor magnet board I would definitely dump that company and go with the one of the pictures that I sent you it's top quality and literally you have to grab them to pull them off yours literally you put the knife on and it falls off and scratches the wood so anyways thank you so much I'm extremely pleased and I plan on buying more knives from you in the future a whole set and I wish you would sell the magnetic board that I sent you thank you I couldn't be happier with your product

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a 3-piece set enough, or do I need more knives?

For most cooks, these three cover the overwhelming majority of kitchen work — a chef knife for heavy lifting, a santoku for nimble everyday prep, and a utility for smaller, detailed tasks. It's a complete working core rather than a starter kit. Larger sets add specialty and duplicate blades, but many of those go unused. This set prioritizes the knives you'll actually reach for every day.

Why these three knives specifically?

What's the difference between the chef knife and the santoku in this set?

The 8" chef knife is longer with a curved edge built for rocking through larger jobs and carving. The 7" santoku is shorter and flatter, favoring a straight down-and-forward cut that many cooks find gives more control for quick, everyday prep. Having both means you can match the knife to the task rather than forcing one blade to do everything.

How is this different from the Cutluxe Artisan sets?

The Artisan sets use German steel with a 14–16° edge and the rugged Cutluxe build. The Shinobi set is a website-exclusive Japanese-style line with a harder temper and a finer 12° edge for a keener, lighter cut across all three knives. It's the more refined option for cooks who want maximum sharpness and a more elevated set — and it's only available here, not on Amazon.

How do I care for the knives in this set?

Hand-wash and dry each knife immediately — never the dishwasher. Store them on a magnetic strip, in a block, or in a roll so the edges stay protected, and use a wood or plastic cutting board rather than glass or ceramic. Hone them regularly with a honing rod to keep the edges aligned between sharpenings — a quick habit that keeps all three performing.

Does this set make a good gift?

It's one of the best gifts you can give a cook — it outfits the working core of a kitchen in a single box, and every knife gets real, daily use. It arrives presentation-ready, and because it's a cutluxe.com exclusive, it's not something the recipient could have found on Amazon. The whole set is backed by a lifetime warranty against defects and a 30-day money-back guarantee, so it can be given — or bought — with complete confidence.

i love them, very good knives. best gift ever

7” Fillet Knife – Flexible Precision for Fish & Meat

It is another addition to the 15 other cutluxe knives I already own

cuts well and handles well

Beautiful knife. Weight and length of the blade is perfect. The price point for the quality is shocking. I plan on buying a couple for great gifts.

My son, who is a chef, recommended this knife. We eat tons of vegetables, especially root vegetables. We’re very pleased so far.

Great value for genuine quality and customer service !

Nice Blade!

Wow. Great balance between handle and blade…AND I dare you to find a sharper knife. I’ll be buying more for Christmas gifts.

All great

The magnets need to be stronger short knives fall easy.

Overall, nice product.

Sharp, feels good in the hand (weight), appears to be made from quality material (time will tell), I love the fact that it is designed in the United States, just wish it was not manufactured in China. I get it from a business standpoint but have a hard time selling or associating my brand with imported Chinese products.

I appreciate the demo, however at this time I am going to pass on the opportunity to be an authorized wholesaler of your product.

Sharp, I like this smaller blade/knife to cut vegetables etc. Will order again. High quality knives. Very happy I bought these.
